I can only speak to the actual epoxy, as I used another brand wood hardener, but I would not hesitate to get the kit. I was hesitant at first due to what seemed like high product cost, but looking at how many windows and doors I have "cured" of rotten wood, its not bad at all. If the rot is extensive enough, you must be part woodworker, part sculptor, but after all is said and done and you have sanded the epoxy to the original shape it is replacing, you will be quite pleased. It can be a bit sticky to a trowel, but using their tip of wetting the trowel works great. While my repairs are new I am hoping and expect there to be no separation or shrinking from the wood. I have no vested interest in this product - only that I was impressed enough to take the time to write this.
