The Slimline 7mm is a thin pen for those who prefer a smaller diameter. Very easy to make, it uses a standard Cross refill. Pen turning is easy, can be very profitable and requires a minimum of equipment to get started. A lathe of any size that will accept a #1 or #2 Morse Taper (MT) arbor will work. The only tools typically required are a 1/4" or 3/8" spindle or bowl gouge, a parting tool, and a skew chisel. These are included in our Pen Turning Chisel Set, 809-9150.
All of the hardware in our pen kits feature 24K "Upgrade Gold", a durable gold finish containing cobalt or palladium. Each pen kit contains pen hardware, brass tubes and instructions. Pen Kits Include: Pen hardware and brass tubes for one pen, plus instructions. Blanks sold separately. Bushing Sets: Precision steel sleeves that provide a reference diameter for the pen blank to be turned. Bushing Sets make about 30 pens and are specific to each kit. Drill Bits: Precision parabolic drills for wood and plastics. Mandrels: A steel rod threaded into a #1 or #2 Morse Taper (MT) arbor on which bushings and pen blanks are placed for turning. Super-T Adhesive: #447-6020, used to glue the brass tubes to the pen blanks.
