Comments:
My Trex deck has been up now for about 10 months. I bought two of these deck jigs so I could work it with my son. This process is slower than nails or screws into the face of the decking, I also recommend getting additional spacers, it does speed up the installation a little. This is the only blind fastener system I have seen that allows one to repair a single damaged board easily, and it is considerably less expensive than clips. You MUST have decking that is NOT pre-grooved for the clips! Sometimes plain non-grooved decking can be hard to find. I do wish Kreg would make a longer screw for 2x6 decking, there is some very nice kiln dried pine decking available for half the price of Trex, but it is too thick for the Kreg screws. Do get your self two battery operated drills and extra batteries, you will need them!
