In my opinion this is no good for anything. I set it at 0 degrees with a machinist square when I moved it to cut 45 degree angles it was cutting 49 degree angles.

Once I calibrated the gauge, it was right on for every cut I made. I make pictures frames of all different shapes and sizes and this gauge has become my new favorite tool!
