Pros This is a wonderful well thought out tool. When using a sidewinder (common) circular saw, its very important to minimize fatigue by having the weight of the motor and the beefy side of the base resting on the finished piece. With the thin profile, the motor has enough room to clear the jig as a pass is made. The increased length is way better then holding a speed square on the opposite side. Palm grip is comfy. Cons This jig performs poorly on shorter pieces of wood and cuts longer then 12 inches. These types of cuts should be done at a band saw or table saw. I wish it had a 45 degree. Other thoughts: I used this jig to "setup" longer cuts with a straight edge... but there was to much cumulative inaccuracy to make it worth while. Fits in my saw bag, but I'm worried about the initial setup being changed, while in transit. This tool is expensive for its specific duty, I purchased mine from a Lowes on sale for 10 bucks. Pay the right price for this.

The idea is great for people who can't cut straight or don't realize where their circular saw is going to crosscut a board. However, you can save yourself some money and just by a Speed Square and attach a 1x2 to one side with an bolt and use that instead and - then you have the speed square to use otherwise.
