Make beautiful and strong rail and stile frame raised panel doors and drawers!

Make authentic, classic rail and stile frame raised panel doors and drawers. This professional quality set contains six carbide tipped bits needed for cabinet making, raised panel doors, table tops and drawer assembly. These 1/2" shank bits are capable of creating fine furniture or custom cabinetry for a kitchen. Designed for up to 3/4" wood thickness. Set #8389 has the same bits as #8387 except the Ogee Raised Panel Bit has an Undercutter which allows you to produce flush panels, or reduces the exposed upper panel profile. Includes wood storage box.

SET INCLUDES the following 1/2" Shank Router Bits:

  • Ogee Raised Panel Router Bit with Undercutter (*in Undercutter Set #8389 only) produces a flush or reduced upper panel profile, or adds a radius to the back of the panel. (3-1/8" Large Diameter)
  • Ogee Raised Panel Router Bit (*in Standard Set #8387 only) puts a classic "ogee" edge on the floating panel in your door. (2-3/4" Large Diameter)
  • Ogee Raised Panel 2-Piece Matched Router Bit Set creates a precisely mated joint that forms an extremely strong "classic" frame for your door. (Both Bits 1-5/8" Large Diameter)
  • Round Over & Ogee Door Lip Router Bit finishes your door edge professionally in one pass (1-1/4" Large Diameter)
  • When the central panel needs to be wider than your stock, use the Glue Joint Router Bit (with reverse cut edge joints) to mill two or more pieces of stock (1‑1/4" max.) to reach the required width. Glue it up, then raise the panel. (1-3/4" Large Diameter)
  • Drawer Lock Router Bit creates a strong, long lasting joint that fits precisely because one bit makes the cut in the drawer front, and the side of the drawer, so both pieces fit perfectly. (1-3/4" Large Diameter)

FREE Raised Panel Project Calculator CD #9102

WORKS WITH METRIC! Quickly and easily produce more precise detailed cut lists, without costly math errors. Create doors (with up to four panels) or wainscoting panels. Get dimensions for a single door/wall or every door/wall on your project. First enter stile and rail widths, opening size and door overhang, then the program quickly provides a fractional (inch) or decimal (mm) based cut list for your rails, stiles and panels. Program also includes a handy board foot calculator. Available on CD (for Windows XP/NT/2000/VISTA/7/8/10). Sorry, not currently compatible with MAC OS, Android, or iOS.

FREE Bag of 100 Space Balls #447-7170

Eliminate panel movement! Wood doors and panels expand and contract with changes in humidity. Use Space Balls to prevent panel cracking and damage. They're guaranteed to make your panels centered and rattle free. Simply place two or three balls equally spaced in each channel before inserting the panel. Space balls measure .26" and are made of synthetic rubber.

Router Safety Chart - Suggested Speeds:

Bit Diameter Max Speed
up to 1" 24000 RPM
1-1/16" to 2" 18000 RPM
2-1/16" to 2-1/2" 16000 RPM
2-9/16" to 3" 14500 RPM
over 3" 12000 RPM

Router Safety Tips:

  • Always wear eye and ear protection.
  • Always use properly sharpened bits.
  • Never use bits that are dull or damaged.
  • Shank must be completely inserted into collet and then backed-off approximately 1/16".
  • Don't "bottom-out" bit in collet.
  • Never partially insert bit into collet. Minimum 1" of shank needs to be in collet.
  • Tighten bit securely and recheck periodically for possible slippage or "run-out" due to wear.
  • Keep collet clean and replace if worn.
  • Never start the router with the bit in contact with wood.
  • Always feed your work or router in the proper direction against the bit rotation.
  • Don't force feed the bit or overload your router, Feed at a constant moving speed to avoid burning the wood.
  • Do not face tool's discharge when operating.
  • Always unplug router when changing bits or making adjustments.
  • Use a router table and fence whenever possible.
  • Make sure your work piece is properly secured and use push blocks, sticks and featherboards whenever possible.
  • Keep all your bits, bearings and assemblies clean, lubricated, and securely fastened. To avoid damage, store them properly in a pouch, box or tray.
  • The bigger the bit, the lower RPM recommended (see chart).
